SNA Series Bearing Housings – JAYCO Engineering India
JAYCO Engineering India manufactures SNA Series Bearing Housings as an enhanced and robust design over the conventional SN Series. While maintaining full dimensional interchangeability with SN Series housings, the SNA Series offers improved strength, superior sealing options, and higher load-handling capability, delivering greater operational reliability for demanding industrial environments.
Design Overview & Construction Features
The SNA Series bearing housings by JAYCO are engineered with an optimized structural design to enhance rigidity and service life:
Reinforced construction with a broad central rib in the base cavity and an additional rib at the top of the cap, providing improved load distribution and housing strength
Horizontally split housing design, enabling easy bearing installation, inspection, and maintenance
Suitable for bearings with tapered bore mounted on adapter sleeves
Shaft diameter range: 20 mm to 140 mm
Provision for locating ring (FRB) for axial positioning where required
Suitable for both grease and oil lubrication systems
A grease nipple is strategically positioned on the top of the housing to ensure effective relubrication. For W33 type bearings with internal annular groove, the grease nipple is located at the center of the cap width. For other bearing types, nipples are fitted on the sides, with suitable dimples provided on the cap.
Sealing Arrangements Available
To suit varying operating conditions, JAYCO SNA Series bearing housings are available with multiple sealing options:
Felt Seal – TC (felt collar with O-ring)
V Seal – TA
Double Lip Seal – TG
Four Lip Seal – TL
Labyrinth Seal – TS
The availability of heavy-duty sealing arrangements enables SNA Series housings to perform reliably under dusty, high-temperature, and higher-speed operating conditions.
Drainage & Maintenance Features
Drain holes with plugs are provided on bottom pads on both sides for easy removal of contaminated grease during maintenance
End cover provisions are available for closed-end shaft applications, designated by appropriate suffix codes (e.g., TC with end cover – ATC, TS with end cover – ATS)
Material Options
To meet different loading requirements, JAYCO SNA Series bearing housings are available in multiple material grades:
Graded Cast Iron – FG 220 (IS 210)
Cast Steel – Grade 280–520 (IS 1030)
Spheroidal Graphite (Ductile) Iron – Grade 400/15 (IS 1865)
For applications where grey cast iron is insufficient, cast steel or ductile iron housings can be supplied, capable of supporting approximately twice the load capacity of standard cast iron housings.
Foundation & Mounting Options
Standard supply includes two oval-shaped foundation slot holes
On request, housings can be supplied with four foundation slot holes for severe vibration or heavy load conditions
Suffix Identification:
MS1 – Two foundation slot holes
MS2 – Four foundation slot holes
For extremely heavy-duty applications, SSNAD Series housings with solid base in ductile iron and four foundation slots are available.
